UGANDA TO HOST POPULAR ATA CONFERENCE

Uganda will host the 39th congress of the Africa Travel Association (ATA) in November 2014. The announcement was formally made by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Dr. Maria Mutagamba, at a press conference held at Protea Hotel, Kampala.

 

The Ministry hosted an advance ATA team from the United States, headed by the ATA Executive Director, Mr. Edward Bergman. The team was in Uganda for a week to inspect potential venues and discuss planned activities.

 

As part of the visit, the ATA advance team, accompanied by officials from the Ministry, UTB and ATA Uganda Chapter, met the First Lady and the President of Uganda HE Yoweri Museveni at their country home in Rwakitura. The First Lady, Hon. Janet Museveni, is the Patron of the ATA Uganda Chapter.

 

 

The Uganda Chapter President Mrs. Susan Muhwezi expressed her gratitude to the President and the First Lady for supporting the ATA cause in Uganda. President Museveni vowed to open the conference, due to take place from 11th to 16th November, 2014.
